Being the victim of a car accident is a traumatic event, and we are here to help you with your treatment. If you’ve been in an auto accident, you should see a chiropractor as soon as possible. You may not know you have an injury because you may not feel pain, however, there are other signs and symptoms. Our professional staff will evaluate you to see if you need chiropractic care.
Auto injuries can be severe and create a life-long disability if left untreated. Some of the common injuries we treat are back and neck issues, headaches, damaged vertebrae and intervertebral discs, and whiplash. The pain from these kinds of injuries may not show up until several days after you’ve been in the accident. Delaying chiropractic evaluation and treatment can make your recovery more difficult or leave your body compromised.
We will complete a full evaluation of your body, and determine a thorough and specific diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. Our goal is to return you to a high quality of life, and to make your recovery as smooth and efficient as possible.
Sports Injuries and Auto Accidents are leading causes of soft tissue injury, and a primary focus in our practice.
Soft tissue can be injured by a multitude of other processes including pulls, tears, strains, sprains, repetitive micro-trauma, and lack of oxygen (hypoxia). Soft tissue includes the muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia and nerves of the body. When a soft tissue injury occurs, the body will wound repair the damage by lying down dense and irregular fibrous tissue. This fibrotic bundle of scar tissue will bind to its surroundings causing myofasical adhesions and peripheral nerve entrapments. When this binding occurs the tissue will become weak, tight, inflamed, non-elastic, and dysfunctional.
Common soft tissue injuries include whiplash, wrist sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff tendonitis, ankle sprains, shin splints, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, fibromyalgia, trigger finger, sciatica, and muscle strains. Symptoms of soft tissue injuries include headaches, tingling, numbness, burning, and weakness.
Dr. Francis is certified in the most effective soft tissue modalities currently utilized on a professional and collegiate sports level to treat these injuries — Active Release Technique (ART), Kinesio-Taping, and Graston Technique.
